SUNDAY SOUNDS: LIFE IN FILM

 The London based band, Life of Film, came together to create a lovely little playlist for us! They will be touring through the US for the first time, stopping by Portland May 18! We caught up with the Brits to see what their world is like!

EYES + EDGE: Life in Film..we love the name and need to know where it came from!Life in Film: It came from an idea Sam had about how situations in life can sometimes feel like they are been played out like in a film, which then distorts your idea of what is real and what you have attached to that reality. I also think that as a group we like the idea that our music could become a soundtrack to peoples lives as well.

E+E: How did the band come together in 2012? What are some of the first memories of Life in Film?LIF: Sam met Dom and Micky at Uni then they came back to London where I was living. I was friends with Sam from school and he knew I was looking to do some music stuff, so we all hooked up. My earliest memory of the band is of Sam saying me and him should do some open mic nights as I had never been up on stage before. For some reason we did it in a sports bar miles from where we lived which was full of Australians watching the TV above our heads. I'd like to say that was the most disinterested audience we've played to but I'd be lying.E+E: The US is excited to welcome you for your first coast to coast tour next month. What is Life in Film most excited to see and do in America?LIF: Well it's something we've all wanted to do for such a long time that now we think about it we don't actually know what to do. Most of the places we are are going to are places we never thought we would get to go, so if anyone has any recommendations then let us know. To be honest, the best times we've ever had when we've gone away have been when we've just walked around and discovered things accidentally, I think thats the best way to see a place.

E+E: Finally, what's a perfect day in London for each of you?

LIF: I'd say doing the above, strolling around and discovering things, then having a few drinks together and eventually having an argument about something stupid.
