PORTLAND DESIGN AUCTION
This Thursday will mark the first annual Portland Design Auction at beautiful space The Good Mod occupies on West Burnside. The auction, which features 42 artist and designers from the Portland area, is committed to provide a platform for the makers to connect directly with the creative consumers and collectors. Often times, we buy pieces that we love but never meet the designers who crafted the beautiful collection. This event encourages cross-pollinate the art, design, and engineering disciplines to promote a healthy economy between creators and customers. Three cheers for that!Portland Design Auction from Elias Parise on Vimeo.
We are really excited about all of the pieces, but particularly the gold shark-tooth necklace, a cast stainless-steel bowl and a Pendleton wool kimono (!!), as well as handmade furniture, paintings and other works from contemporary creatives. The auction features recent, original works spanning a wide range of disciplines. Notable artists and designers such as Meg Callahan, Jason Rens, Philip Iosca, Eric Trine, Jamie Iacoli, and Brian McAllister will be participating.
The event takes place on this Thursday, Oct. 10. You can purchase tickets for the early bird show and the ticket includes a beautifully printed full-color PDA catalog, custom auction paddle, and a drink ticket and you are invited to a private cocktail hour from 5:30-6:30 and are able to see the pieces before the general public. Also, upon winning a big your $12 registration fee will apply to your purchase. If you don't plan on purchasing anything, you are welcome to come to the show for free.
