Look after fresh look. A unique paparazzi photo style. A couple. Grabbing Internet attention—not only with their unique detail to fashion, but their attention to snack-in-hand mid-shot detail—that is what won my heart.

Welcome to the world of @ZOOMTHASHIT, by Siamo Samuel Batista & Sara Morsillo—a truly beautiful couple, ever on the go to somewhere fantastic. Their creative, cohesive outfits, with a pop of your fave bodega snack, is just what we need to stay inspired during this hiatus.

The opportunity for EYES & EDGE to connect with Samuel and Sara, came during a particularly insane time for the couple. Living in Milan, this duo has been coping during their Italy’s deadly fight with COVID-19. The country is approaching over a month of full locked down. The couple shares with EYES & EDGE, how they are staying creative between four walls.

Before we head into this incredible interview, we must pivot. Our hearts are with those who have been devastated by this virus. Please know—E&E is here for you. We are curating creative, heart-felt content to help you find balance during this bizarre time. If you are in need of support—a shoulder to lean on,  a place to find passion, an opportunity to connect, a creative in search of a platform to share art,—please reach out to us!

Please find the interview in Italian, the couple’s native language, followed by English.

Intervista Italiana:

ZOOM THAT SHIT: Andiamo verso l’estate e torneranno i fantastici hot pants, le camicie over, trench, pizzi e maglie varie, dai colori terra ai colori sgargianti, tessuti freschi e leggeri, volumi ampi e stilosi.

EYES & EDGE: Come stai affrontando COVID-19?

ZOOM THAT SHIT: Amiamo le avventure. I viaggi.

English Interview:

EYES & EDGE: First off, introduce yourself! Who are the creatives behind Zoom That Shit?
ZOOM THAT SHIT: We are Samuel Batista and Sara Morsillo, 21 and 22 year old students of Fashion and Costume Sciences at the Sapienza University of Rome. We met there over a year ago, and never left each other’s sides. Sara is Italian, from Rome, while Samuel is Brazilian. We have been living in Milan for a few months.

E&E: Tell us about the evolution of your outfits. Do you style each other? How do you get to the final outfit combination?
ZOOM THAT SHIT:Each shot is made 100% by our creativity. We are two extremely curious people, and to create our outfits we take cues from every new adventure that presents itself: from food, to a trip. From a simple walk in a touristy and crowded area, to a peek at the newest trends launched by the fashion shows. In this way, we always stay up to date and fresh. We love fashionable, comfortable, and oversized streetwear.

E&E: Where do you see where fashion trends going into next season? What's next in your eyes?
ZOOM THAT SHIT: Let's go towards summer in fantastic hot pants, oversized shirts, trench coats. Lace and various sweaters will return, from earthen tones to bright colors—fresh and light fabrics, large, stylish and volumes.

E&E: How are you coping with COVID-19? How has your creative vision evolved during this bizarre time?
ZOOM THAT SHIT: This very difficult time of quarantine has pushed us to change the shooting concept for the photos we take. Now, we are imprisoned in 4 walls and they are our set 24hrs a day. We find strategic corners to make routine vibrant, with simple spontaneous photos. Our goal is to make everyone feel closer—we are all in the same strange situation.

E&E: Favorite hobbies as a couple, outside of fashion?
ZOOM THAT SHIT: We love adventures, and travel. We are the kind of couple who, when going abroad, must have all kinds of experiences related to that place. While in Milan we break our routine with Netflix, music, home movies, pubs and restaurants around the city.

E&E: What are you hoping we—as a collective society—take from this time under lockdown?
ZOOM THAT SHIT: We believe that this moment is taking away a lot, but at the same time it is teaching us to value really important things such as love, family, hugs and caresses—talking together calmly without the exhausting frenzy of “today's life”. United, we will face this too.
