EYES & EDGE: Who are you , what is your name, where are you from? Give me a bio about you so we can start from there..

My name is Tatiana Cardona, I am from Colombia and lived there a few years but I was mostly raised in Miami. I am 23 years old and my life pretty much revolves around my art, my dogs, and lots of plants.

EYES & EDGE: What diff forms of art of do you create or indulge in? Are you a dancer, maker, painter, etc? What do you call your art form/ art forms. How did you get started doing what you are doing?

I have been creative since I was a child, my late father was an artist and encouraged me to express myself creatively since I can remember. I worked on his paper-mache creations with him and have always loved painting but it wasn't until high school that I was introduced to ceramics which is my main medium now. Ever since my first ceramics class in high school I've loved all things clay, so much so I studied it in university.

EYES & EDGE: What inspires you or drives you? What gets you out of bed each day?  Are there any particular art forms that you consider to be highly influential in your work?

My inspiration comes from creating, each day I get up excited to start my day creating more work and documenting it for social media. I get inspired by fashion, environments, colors, anything! I use these inspirations to create themes for my collections.

EYES & EDGE: Who inspires you ( past or present heroes/heroines). Why do they inspire you?

I am very inspired by Marjorie Strider, Frida Khalo, and Yayoi Kusama these artists found their style and left a mark on this earth with their art. I love to learn about different female artists and how their art influences the world today.

EYES & EDGE:What are you rituals that keep you on track? Self care rituals, meditations, etc- any and all that keep you feel recharged and stoked.

I have a morning ritual that really helps me stay grounded and find time to do little things for myself because if I don't I will work the minute I wake up to the minute I have to go to sleep. I like to start my morning with a stretching routine, then a matcha tea, followed by a meditation and a workout with my pups, then I start my work day.

EYES & EDGE: How do you handle challenges ie creative blocks, or even bigger challenges like the one we are facing worldwide- how do you keep on track with your art and your mission?

I find that I have a surplus of ideas, what I am lacking in is time. I wish I had more time in the day to complete all of the things I have scrambled around in my head. I've been very fortunate to work from home and not be affected by what's going on right now. I just stay busy in order to stay sane, I make lots of lists to sort out the ramblings in my head and stay on track.

EYES & EDGE: How do you want your art to affect the world and other people? How do you want people to feel when they experience your art? What do you want them to take away from it ?

I want my art to make people smile. I find that art was always meant to be this thing that represents fun and freedom and I want to reflect that with my art.

EYES & EDGE: What does an " ideal utopia world" look like to you? How do people live, how do people interact with each other and the planet?

My utopian world, is a world with less technology, less cars, and more appreciation for the natural wonders this earth has to offer. A place where animals and people live alongside each other without having to eat them. A place where human connection and honesty are valued more than status and money.

EYES & EDGE: What steps are you taking and are willing to make this world a better place , transmute the darkness and turn it into light?

As an artist I can communicate best with my art and hope to create pieces that brighten people's home. If I can make a person smile then that means I've changed that person's world and that's what's important to me.

EYES & EDGE: If you could go back in time and give your younger self advice, what would it be?

I would tell myself to start following my dreams sooner, to listen to my intuitions and not the doubt and scrutiny of others.

EYES & EDGE: Words to live by. What are some quotes that have stuck with you or influence your life? Any words of wisdom for us?

"Acknowledging the good that is already in your life is the foundation for all abundance." Eckhart Tolle. Learning to appreciate everything you already have and appreciate the position you are currently in no matter what it is, not only teaches you how to appreciate the little things but also attracts abundance.

EYES & EDGE: What are a few of your favorite things? Colors, tastes, smells, foods, places- take us there?

My favorite things, my dogs for sure are my very favorite things, their friendship, love and cuteness is unmatched. I also love the color pink, peruvian ceviche, and my lovely boyfriend.

EYES & EDGE: Share a coincidence or a funny thing that happened to you that really reaffirmed that you are /were on the right path .

I think I finally understood that I was heading in the right direction when I received an order and dm from Hailey Williams. The lead singer from Paramore, one of my favorite bands for as long as I can remember messaged me one day saying she had ordered one of my pieces, I think I jumped around in excitement for an entire hour. That really established for me that I was an actual artist and people really liked my work.
