Poetry Press Week is conceptually mixing poetry and Fashion Week - wherein designers gather to present their new work to an audience of buyers, magazines, journalists, and fashion aficionados. Just as fashion designers do, the poets will select models to present their work to give some measure of distance between themselves and the audience. Each poet will take advantage of this unconventional format in whichever way they choose, revealing all new, unpublished work in real-time. Whereas editors will be there to consider the new work for publication, press and journalists are being invited to the show to see, experience, and write about it.
The poets who will be presenting are Matthew Dickman, Carl Adamshick, Britta Ameel, Zachary Schomburg, and Ashley Toliver. Learn more about each artist here.Don't miss your change to see Poetry Press Week for yourself this Thursday at Literary Arts downtown space, 925 SW Washington St. Doors are at 7, readings will begin at 7:30 and will go for an hour.
