PEACE BICYCLES

For those who love to travel environmentally and style friendly, make sure to check out a new project on Kickstarter called Peace Bicycles. Peace Bicycles is a company based in Los Angeles that offers an array of fashionable and functional vintage-style bikes. Their bikes are designed for optimal comfort, whether you are traveling for business or pleasure.
We went to their launch party in LA and got the scoop about Peace Bicycles and the team behind the comfy bikes.
Ilya Pikus, owner and founder of Peace Bicycles, says that his inspiration started as far back as childhood. For Ilya, like for most kids, his childhood bicycle was his first taste of independence. Though his love for bicycles did not end with his adolescence. Years later, he spent time traveling abroad in Amsterdam where he admired the local bicycle-rich culture. The Dutch are famous for their love of cycling and it is Ilya’s goal to make it a bigger trend in the United States, starting at Peace Bicycles.
The future plans of Peace Bicycles are focused on working towards building relationships with not for profit co-ops that aim to give those in need of low cost and reliable transportation more affordable access to bikes. With designer Lily Pikus and engineer Joe Pikus hard at work producing these gorgeous rides, Peace Bicycles aims to be shipping these bikes to the local Angelinos, as well as all over the United States and Canada, too!
It kind of makes you want to sing out, “I want to ride my bicycle!”
