NEW YORK: CORNBREAD APP LAUNCHES

How many apps push you to actually get OFF your phone and experience life? As we all know, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Vine, and Snapchat users share what is happening at that moment in time - or close to it - with viewers who are most often in another location entirely, sometimes half a world away. The new app, Cornbread rotates the axis of experience, showing users in a specific place, what has happened there across time. It allows users to layer a singular location with beautiful multimedia, spanned across time.Cornbread creates an intimate intersection between user-generated experiences and our daily landscape. Users create and drop 'crumbs' which are discovered and experienced right where they were dropped: the restaurant where your parents got engaged, the Pont de Neuf at sunset, the A train station in 6th Avenue. Crumbs are digital landmarks plus social media - a way to anchor your creation to a particular place. The idea of creating and finding messages at specific locations sounds really exciting to us!
The app will launch at this year's Northside Music Festival, which begins today until June 14 in Brooklyn. Festival attendees will be able to use the app like a living bulletin board, leaving one another inspirational moments along the festival route. Cool, right?
On Friday, June 12, Cornbread will be hosting a Northside Innovation After Party in a loft overlooking Bushwick 7pm-Midnight. Taylor John Williams The Voice & Najah Lewis of American Idol will perform an acoustic set and EYES + EDGE will be hosting the evening. The DJ will keep the vibes going with free Blue Moon & Maker's Mark to sip on and cornbread to eat. In New York? Come by the party to experience the app first hand, get all of your questions answered and start dropping crumbs before anyone else! The party will be held at 75 Stewart Ave, 4th Floor, Brooklyn, NY. RSVP here.
Taylor John Williams, most known for his appearance on The Voice has been dropping crumbs while on his national tour. Taylor is changing how music is discovered and experienced, harnessing the magic of music and place by dropping crumbs at his places of inspiration. Williams has embarked on a series of “Living Room Concerts” through Fanswell, turning different people’s homes into venues, celebrating the power of music, in the air, anywhere.
"Cornbread is taking a platform (social media), which is fast and broad, but somewhat impersonal, and creating a more unique, relatable system. I've had a similar experience with my career in going from "The Voice", a process that involves reaching a mass audience in a very quick fashion, to performing a series of intimate living room shows that allow me to personally connect with new people every time, never knowing what I'm about to walk into."
So, download the beta version of the app and start playing around, dropping crumbs for your friends. We promise, you will love it!
