From the city of Angeles, The Bots have been surprising listeners and music critics for years now. Mikaiah and Anaiah Lei, the brothers who make up the indie rock band, reordered their first album when they were 15 and 12 respectively.  A few years later, after the young brother duo signed to Fader Label, they released several albums and are still making a name for themselves. At the beginning of the year, LA Weekly named them "L.A.'s most celebrated rock duo" and they were featured in Interview Magazine's "15 Faces of 2015". Catch our interview with Anaiah and Mikaiah!E+E: What has been the best part of 2015 so far?Anaiah: Everything has been great about 2015. Can't think of something in particular,  it's still early in the year and there is still more to come.E+E: With all that's coming up for you guys, how do you stay sane on the road?Mikaiah: I try to eat well on the road that's part of what keeps me in my place, I usually go for a little walk wherever we are and think to myself a lot. I try to stretch meditate and exercise every morning. A nice cup of time to wrap that all up with.E+E: Any tricks of the trade you can share with us?M: I know a lot of tricks but if I share them they are trick anymore haha!A: In terms of writing music, always do what you want to do. Don't let any on pigeon hold you, and don't settle for just one thing (or one genre).E+E: The Blinded music video, directed by Norman Reedus looked epic! How was shooting the music video in the desert?A: It was a blast, a little stressful because of all the dirt but regardless it was a great time.M: The dessert was a small part of it all but it was pretty much going to the dessert and shooting classic dessert stuff.E+E: What was the process like? Do you have any fun/crazy stories from it?M: It was no different from anything else we filmed, if anything it was way more layer back. Didn't feel like we were even filming sometimes. I also had felt like I was dying the whole day but that's another story haha..A: Pretty average process to shooting it. Mikaiah must have gotten food poisoning the night before and got sick 4 times on the way to the first shooting location.Photo by: Joseph Llanes
