Riding on the coattails of New York Fashion Week, Portland's own "Fade to Light" show is back for a second year with collections from the city's most promising designers
The producer, Elizabeth Mollo (of Fashionxt, Portland Fashion Week and a host of other indie shows), organized a fashion show she says is more than just a show. Each designer was encouraged to "think outside the box," to be creative with their runway presentation for Wednesday's show at the Crystal Ballroom in downtown Portland. Tickets went on sale last week and fittings were just finished Sunday, according to the event's Facebook page.
The lineup is expected to feature some of the most innovative names in town, including Bryce Black, Ms. Wood, Studio SKB, Clair Vintage Inspired, Chicago Harper, Emit, Wandering Muse, and Gregarious T. Cline for PINO.
We're excited to see just how avant-garde their runway looks turn out to be. I'll be live-tweeting comments, testing out videos with the new Twitter app Vine and posting Instagram pictures like a madwoman, as fast as my fingers can tap.
Stay tuned at our Tailor Talk column for roundup of our favorite looks and a recap of the event.
