This December 9th, at Art Basel Miami, Vulgar, and EYES & EDGE magazines, joined forces to create an experiential event through fashion, music, and art. Nothing short of impactful—the evening showcased a raucous blend of juxtapositions: Sophisticated, and sexy. Professional, and provocative. The message was clear, (shouted loud over throbbing beats, with a picket sign and a g string,): “Gender “norms” need not limit expression”—and team #theNASTYWOMAN is here to embrace that.

Lambos. Raris. A live snake?! Celebrity sightings such as Saweetie, Zoey Dollaz, Mack Wilds, and more. A 65K runway featuring top tier designers like Kota Okuda, Krone, Khendar, and Stevie McQueen. Celebrated art curation by Scalibar, Junkyrd, and Allie Galiardo. Flashing lights, pulsing beats, and an insanely packed house — 600 plus — the energy was palpable. While throwing one hell of a Basel celebration, the team’s message also remained clear. Women can do anything.

#theNASTYWOMAN—an experiential celebration of female defiance, was hosted by superstar MC Saweetie, and produced by a core team of six industry talents: Founder Tali Sanchez, Creative Director Stevie McQueen, Style Director Domi Reina, Event Director Whitney Brielle, Fashion Show Director Stephanie Swango, and Director of Media & PR Holly Hoover. Sponsors, BrennaB Bag, No Sympathy Swim, Everyday Adventure Treats, and Babeland Toys. Held at the new Factory venue in Wynwood, Miami—the evening was explosive.

A first time collaboration, the NASTY WOMAN event was a knockout. They took a woman’s rally, and turned it into a party. The real question is—what will they do next? (Sources report rumblings of NYFW...stay tuned @eyesandedge and @vulgarmagazine.)

Shortly after Saweetie entered the party, the crowd was directed to step inside green fluorescent lines that had been designated on the floor, making way for a runway that stretched around the entire room.
