Run The Jewels, the rap supergroup consisting of Killer Mike and El-P, came to the Crystal Ballroom last Monday to perform for a sold out crowd. From the back of the venue to the top of the rafters, RTJ fanatics shouted incessantly for the super group to hit the stage. As fans held their fists with two fingers pointing at it, RTJ walked on stage for their set. The ballroom floors got their work in (the floors at the Crystal bounce, if you didn't know) when Killer Mike and El-P ran through their discography. Tracks from the group’s current album including “Call Ticketron”  and “Stay Gold” kept the fans going crazy. RTJ classics such as “Get It” and “Lie, Cheat, Steal” had the fans reciting almost every word (which is impressive due to the rapid rhyme scheme that is normal to RTJ).The chemistry Killer Mike and El-P share is contagious. Although the group has been together and touring since 2013, [ttshare]one would think that Mike and El-P grew up together.[/ttshare]The two feed off of each other very well, and the vibes RTJ gives off are definitely something you would want to see in person. Between the great music RTJ puts out and the performances themselves, there’s a 130% chance you’ll leave with your fist in the air with two fingers pointing at it.Words by: DJ JonesPhotos by: Jake
