REVA DEVITO'S BET YOU STAY

Portland-based singer/songwriter, who just moved to LA, Reva Devito, boasts an enviable resume with features on some of the most recognizable tracks of KAYTRANADA, Young Franco, Chuck Inglish, and B.Bravo. Her last EP, ‘The Move’ garnered over 10 million plays on Spotify alone, showcasing her timelessness as an artist with a vibrant mix of neo-soul, 90’s R&B, and jazz.
EYES & EDGE: The show comes on the heels of releasing her track "Bet You Stay," a nostalgic, slower jam with warm, textural melodies that cozy up to any winter evening. Your latest music delivers a stripped-down, more personal songwriting and storytelling.
We've loved your music for years now! You've always had us swaying our hips to your gorgeous melodies. Tell us about your inspiration for your new song, Bet You Stay?
Reva DeVito: AWWWWW I love E&E!! So Bet You Stay was a melody that popped into my head while driving almost 6 months ago now. I had to pull the car over and get into my voice memos because the melody was really hitting me. A few months later, I'm building with B.Bravo and I remember the voice memo. I pulled it up and was like, here is a melody that came to me that really stuck if you want to work something out. A few hours later he came up with exactly what I imagined for the tune. I wanted to do something more down tempo and sultry for the record so this felt good. As far as the lyrics go, that shit's real. It's the feeling when you're crushing on someone hard, but you both are playing so cool waiting for the other to make the move. It also touches on something relatable for me, which is knowing you can't be what someone needs when you legitimately don't have the time and are always away from home.
E&E: You just produced & performed at your love inspired show in Portland. How did that annual tradition come about? How was the show? Got any tea for us..
Reva: The Valentines Day Jumper! I can't believe that this year was the 4th... Time is so crazy. The annual party of love came about because back in 2016 when I was on The Move winter tour, it ended up panning out that my Portland show would be on Feb 14th. We ran with it and made it really cute considering it was my home date on that run. It ended up being a huge success so the talent buyer approached me about making it my annual Portland party. I agreed of course and we've been doing a love based party ever since! It's great to expand on the idea that Valentines doesn't have to be about a romance, it can be about love of all kinds. Been so much fun.
E&E: What's up next? What can we expect from our fav girl?
Reva: Currently writing and finishing songs for the upcoming album. I have a bunch of studio sessions in LA that I'm excited about. Also, headed to Europe in April to tour with my boys Miami Horror. Trying to DO ALL THE THINGS! <3
