LONDON FASHION WEEK: MATTY BOVAN

Lavishly distorted garments with protruding tailoring and contrasting colors and cuts stormed the runway at London Fashion Week last February. Rich with chaos, Matty Bovan’s 2019 Autumn/Winter ready to wear collection thrilled with unceasing surprises. The ingenious designer’s DIY craftsmanship renders him as a new punk, proclaimed by the Queen of the subculture herself, Vivienne Westwood. Witchcraft inspired the collection, and Bovan alchemized the looks. Sumptuous furs and spatial metallics offset liberty-fabrics and resided on unexpected silhouettes. Each piece offered a meticulously fashioned bricolage fitting for most brazen of fashionistas.
